Retired teacher publishes first book; plans Blue Mound series
By CATHERINE STORTZ RIPLEY [email protected] Retired teacher Connie (Condron) Dow enjoys genealogy, reading and writing so it was only natural for her to combine these interests and author a children’s book that was inspired by her ancestors. “Mary Rose and the Secret Horses” has been published by Amazing Things Press, and Dow has plans to write more in a series of books with the setting being that of her family’s homestead in Blue Mound, Mo., during the 1860s. Dow’s ancestors homesteaded the farm in 1855 and it has remained in the family ever since, for six generations. Click here to read more here. |
